For 2025, Porsche Updated the Taycan GTS and GTS Gran Turismo, and added a sport sedan version of the Taycan 4. You can order them now; they’ll arrive in 2025.
As Porsche transitions its Macan and 718 models to battery-electric power, adds more plug-in hybrid variants of the Cayenne, and Panamera, and even a hybrid 911, it also continually increases the Taycan portfolio. For the 2025 model year, it updated the GTS and GTS Sport Turismo and added a sport sedan version of the Taycan 4.
That puts these three new iterations in the middle of 13 different variations of Taycan. From the base to the Turbo GT, Porsche offers three different body styles (Sport Sedan, Cross Turismo, Sport Turismo), rear- or all-wheel-drive, and a horsepower spread between 402 – 1019.
2025 Porsche taycan gts
The 2025 Porsche Taycan GTS, both Sport Sedan and Sport Turismo versions, get a 100-horsepower bump. Now peaking at 690 instead of 590 when in overboost, such as when using launch control. The increases of power likely results from a new rear-axle motor that, depending on which Taycan trim its mounted in, makes up to 107 more horsepower than before. As well as improvements in the battery packs, pulse inverter, and software.
Regardless of where, the net gain comes down to a launch control assisted 0-60 mph time of just 3.1 seconds and traveling a quarter of a mile in just 11.1 seconds, 0.4 and 0.7 seconds quicker than the outgoing GTS, respectively.
Porsche also added a “push-to-pass” function to the Sport Chrono package. Push the button at the center of the dial and the GTS responds with 93 additional horsepower above the nominal output, which lasts for up to 10 seconds. If you push it at low speeds, Porsche says you also get “launch control levels” of peak torque. Sounds like fun.
The GTS will ride on an adaptive air suspension and use adjustable shock absorbers, named Porsche Active Suspension Management, or PASM. Porsche torque vectoring comes standard as well. If you wish, Porsche will option the GTS with rear axle steering as well as a system called Porsche Active Ride Suspension. This system individually distributes force on each wheel to maintain a flat body while cornering yet can otherwise offer a much more comfortable ride when just cruising.
just add black
Styling wise, the GTS follows suit of every GTS trim in the Porsche line-up and adds black. For example, you get black front and rear aprons and sideview mirror covers. The wheels, whether you choose 20-inch or 21s, receive a coast of anthracite grey.
Inside, you sit on adaptive sport seats with 18-ways of electric adjustment. Porsche upholsters these seats in RaceTex material. Rest your hands on a GT sport steering wheel while driving. It includes heating and the aforementioned Sport Chrono package dial. Finally, music, etc. comes courtesy of a Bose sound system.
2025 porsche taycan 4
Looking for something relatively calm? Porsche added a sport sedan version of the Taycan 4. It’s no longer just offered as a Cross Turismo body. The 4 delivers either 402 or 429 horsepower to all four wheels, depending on which battery pack you select. The former, overboosted horsepower peak applies with the performance battery. The performance battery plus raises that to the latter.
Slower than the GTS, but by no means slow, the 4 needs but 4.4 seconds to reach 60 mph from rest, which beats the base, rear-wheel-drive Taycan by a tenth of a second. By the way, the 4 is only all-wheel-drive when it has to be. Under normal driving conditions, a clutch decouples the front-axle motor. But, according to Porsche switches back to AWD “within milliseconds,” when needed.
Just like the GTS, you get a standard air suspension. But the wheels measure 19-inches, not 20 or 21. Inside, the Taycan 4 gets eight-way, electrically adjusting seats fitted as standard.
how much?
The 2025 Porsche Taycan 4 sports sedan starts at $105,295, including the $1995 destination charge. Going GTS raises those prices considerably, $149,895 for the sports sedan and $151,795 for the Sport Turismo. But—oof—that’s a lot of power, too. You can order one now, but do not expect to arrive before March of 2025.
When I drove the 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S, I marveled at what the “911 brand” achieved with a couple of electric motors and a battery. Now, just a few years and one update later, it seems high time to test again and see how much they’ve improved.
