Adding a fifth trim to the line-up, the 2026 Toyota Camry Nightshade Edition offers a distinct look to the midsize sedan. It’s still hybrid only and FWD or AWD.
Toyota will add the Nightshade Edition to the Camry line-up for the 2026 model year. That means you will choose between five trims in total, with it slotting in between the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE trims. Expect to see 2026 models arrive at dealers this coming fall. Toyota says they will announce pricing as that date approaches.
NIGHTSHADE EDITION
Toyota will paint the Nightshade Edition Camry in one of three colors: Ice Cap, Supersonic Red, and Midnight Black Metallic or white, red, and black. And it will roll on 19-in wheels. From there, look for Midnight Black Metallic accents throughout. More specifically, on the front grille, air curtains, side canards, door handles, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, rear lower sport diffuser, and rear spoiler.
Finally, Toyota uses gloss black badging to signify its Nightshade identity. From there, just like other Camry’s, the Nightshade Edition will be offered with either front- or all-wheel-drive and make use of the fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System or THS to hustle it around.
Inside, the Nightshade Edition gets a black interior, of course. It’s upholstered in Softex. Your feet touch aluminum pedals to go and stop. Your hands spin a leather wrapper steering wheel to make the turns. Toyota wrapped the shift knob in leather as well for good measure.

OTHER CHANGES FOR 2026
Toyota added a new color to the Camry palette. It’s called Dark Cosmos and described as a sultry, hazy blue color. Three of the five trims will have it on the options list: the SE, XLE, and the XSE.
CARRYOVER ALL HYBRID POWERTRAIN
Toyota plopped a 2.5-liter inline-four-cylinder hybrid powertrain under the hood of the 2025 Toyota Camry. And that remains true for 2026. In front-wheel-drive guise, you get a total of 225 horsepower from the combined efforts of the engine and electric motors. Engineers housed those motors within the electronic continuously variable transmission (eCVT) by the way.
If you go for all-wheel-drive, a third electric motor takes purchase on the rear axle to deliver driveshaft free power to the rear wheels. Adding it also raises total system horsepower to 232.

USUAL GOODIES INSIDE
Three trims get a 7-in partially digital instrument cluster, the LE, SE, and Nightshade Edition. The top two—XLE and XSE—instead look at a 12.3-in fully digital instrument cluster. Toyota also offers a 10-in head up display as an option.
For center display duties, base trims make use of an 8-in screen, top trims get another 12.3-in screen. Either way, it includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a wireless smartphone charger too.
SUMMARY
The nineth-generation, 2025 Toyota Camry revolutionized the mainstay midsize sedan for the powerhouse Japanese brand. Toyota made the powertrain hybrid only, offers all-wheel-drive as an option on every trim, and seriously improved the driving behavior to make it thoroughly enjoyable to drive. Toyota kept the changes minor for 2026, but directionally interesting. I’m happy to see the car continue in the line-up at all, to be honest. I’ll share once I learn Nightshade Edition pricing for the Camry.
