Ram will soon officially reveal the 2025 heavy Duty truck. As that date nears, here’s a look at the brand’s new big truck. And, how much torque will we get?
Ram just released these pictures of the new heavy duty. Ram plans to fully reveal the Heavy Duty later this year but shared these high-quality images ahead of time as a teaser, of sorts. Currently, cooling tests keep Ram engineers busy as they undergo the final preparations before customers get their hands on the new truck.
The current, 2024 Ram Heavy Duty offers towing capability of up to 37,090 lbs. You also choose from multiple engines, including a 6.4-liter Hemi V-8, which chucks 410 horsepower and 429 lb.-ft of torque through the transmission and on to the drive wheels. Or go diesel and twist your way up to 1075 lb.-ft of torque.
Based on the updates to the Ram 1500, we could see some displacement downsizing for these trucks as well. Then again, based on what Ford did with the latest Super Duty, something tells me we’ll still see eight-cylinder options in 2025.
Another number from the Ford Super Duty stands out. Its latest high output, power stroke diesel makes 1200 lb.-ft of torque! No doubt, Ram engineers set surpassing that torque number as a goal. Will its Cummins diesel make 1250 lb.-ft? 1300? More??
Clearly, there’s still much to learn. But for now, we get to see what the latest Ram Heavy Duty will actually look like. And, to me at least. It looks quite good.
