Honda dropped the Accord EX for 2025. Replacing it with the SE as the top trim with the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine. Four hybrid trims see tweaks as well.
Honda tweaked the Accord for the 2025 model year. The 11th generation midsize sedan loses its EX trim level and replaces it with the SE trim. Just as the EX did, a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four-cylinder engine propels the SE. It makes 192 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft of torque, which mates to a continuously-variable-transmission before channeling power the front wheels.
Fuel economy numbers remain solid. 29 mpg in the city, on the highway, 32 combined.
The SE sits above the base LX trim. It includes heated front seats, a moonroof, dual-zone climate control, and a 10-way powered front seat. Both trims receive a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 7-in center display. That display offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
Styling wise, the Accord SE stands out with black, 17-in wheels. That complements black window trim, sideview mirror covers, b-pillars, and shark fin antenna.
Basically, think of the new SE trim as the EX trim with a makeover.
Go Hybrid
Across the board, every 2025 Accord adds rear air-conditioner vents and USB type-c ports. Lovely. And the entry level hybrid trim, the Sport, bolsters that with a wireless smartphone charger.
The Sport is the base of four hybrid trims for the Accord. Honda left the hybrid trim names unchanged for 2025. After Sport comes the EX-L, then Sport-L, and finally the top-of-the-line Touring model. My video review above is of the Touring model.
The two-motor hybrid system, which is tied to a naturally aspirated, two-liter engine carries on as well. It makes 204 horsepower and 247 lb.-ft of torque. Like all current Honda hybrids, Honda replaced the transmission with the hybrid system. A clutch pack provides the only direct connection of the internal combustion engine to the drive wheels. It’s all electric motor driven otherwise.
In terms of fuel economy, you’ll see 46 mpg in the city, 41 on the highway, and 44 combined. Unless you choose the EX-L trim, which takes efficiency to a commendable 51 mpg in the city, 44 on the highway, 48 combined.
Expect the 2025 model year Accords to arrive at dealers now. The base LX trim sneaks in just under $30k at $29,390. The new SE trims charges $31,655 for the aforementioned additional equipment inside and black adornments outside. Budget for more than $40k for the top Touring trim, but only just. It starts at $40,395.
