A no-cost option on multiple variants of the Nissan Frontier Pro-4X, the Japanese brand will build the 250th Anniversary Edition truck through July.
For no additional charge, Nissan will sell you a 250th Anniversary Edition Nissan Frontier Pro-4X. Essentially, you get a special monochromatic Stars and Stripes design on the Frontier tailgate. You see images of the flag through big, blocky Frontier lettering. Nissan offers this package on Pro-4X trucks in short and long wheelbases, as well as the Roush variants. But limits it to 2500 units, assembled through the month of July.
Why is a Japanese automaker celebrating our 250th anniversary? To celebrate more than 40 years of pick-up truck assembly here, according to Nissan. The first Nissan compact pick-up rolled off an American assembly line in 1983, in Smyrna Tennessee. Moreover, Nissan recently built its one millionth truck, here. This one off of the Canton, Mississippi line.
And the Frontier maintains a more traditional truck experience. You still get a naturally aspirated V-6 to supply power. It makes 310 horsepower and 281 lb.-ft of torque. Nissan then sends power to a nine-speed automatic and on to either the rear or all four wheels. No hybrid nothing. No turbos. You get power with displacement.

Frontier Pricing
Nissan also recently announced pricing for the 2027 Frontier line-up. Fundamentally, three trims are offered: S, SV, and Pro-X. But, from there, you choose between five- and six-foot bed lengths, two- or four-wheel-drive, and several different packages.
Base price of the base Frontier S with two-wheel-drive stays close to 2026 prices, starting at $34,235 if you include the $1745 destination charge. That’s $340 over 2026 prices. Going with four-wheel-drive adds $3000 to the cost of the S trim and $3300 to the others. If you stick with an S trim, but want the four-door crew cab, as opposed to the king cab, that’s an additional $1400. Going with the six-foot bed and longer wheelbase costs $500 more than the standard five-foot bed.

Conclusion
This proves an interesting combination of things. A Japanese brand celebrating America’s 250th with a truck that feels more like a traditional truck than modern American trucks. Personally, I find it a subtle and tasteful way to tip-the-hat to the good old U S of A. It’s a neat little something. And I like neat little somethings.
