The 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS sports an energetic, twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 twisting out 493 horsepower and 487 lb.-ft of torque. And a sport suspension, too.
Why a new GTS?
Last year, Porsche updated the third-generation Cayenne for the 2024 Model Year and we saw the revival of the V-8 for the Cayenne S, among other improvements. For 2025, Porsche added another trim to the Cayenne line-up and another V-8 to power it.
This the 2025 Porsche Cayenne GTS (Gran Turismo Sport). It gets a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8, a specific look, and a serious chassis. Porsche calls it a driver focused Cayenne.
To start, while the V-8 is fundamentally the same as the Cayenne S, here it delivers 493 horsepower and 487 lb.-ft of torque. That beats the 2024 Porsche Cayenne S by 25 HP and 45 lb.-ft and the last GTS by 40 HP and 30 lb.-ft. The V-8 bolts up to an eight-speed automatic transmission, which speeds up shifts in sport and sport plus driving modes and, of course, then sends power to all four wheels.
Porsche says that combination will accelerate this new trim from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 171 mph. For reference, that beats the updated Cayenne S, by a bit. The S needs 4.4 seconds to reach 60 mph and only makes it to 169 mph.
But this is never a straight-line only machine.
It uses a specific air-suspension, Porsche active suspension management (PASM)—Porsche’s adaptive shock absorbers—and a 0.4-in lower ride height compared to other air suspension equipped Cayenne SUVs. It also gets the same front axle bearings as the top-of-the-line Cayenne Turbo GT, which increases negative camber and sharpens steering response.
Styling wise, Porsche added a unique front-fascia featuring larger air intakes, tinted head- and taillights, red brake calipers, and black GTS lettering on the door and rear of vehicle.
Moreover, you also get the Sport Design Package, which makes the rocker panels, window trim, wheel arches, and front fascia inlays a high gloss black. You see 21-inch wheels finished in anthracite gray at all four corners. And, finally, black exhaust tips for your sport exhaust system.
Inside, Porsche uses a lot of Race-Tex material in the 2025 Cayenne GTS, including the roofliner, armrests, door panels, heated GT sport steering wheel, as well as the centers of the sport seats. Otherwise, it’s much like the rest of the updated 2024 Porsche Cayenne line-up.
Expect the Cayenne GTS to reach dealers this coming fall and cost at least $126,895 including a $1995 destination charge and $131,895 for the GTS Coupe.
Is it as good as the proper Porsche sports cars? Of course not, but Porsche is right at the top of manufacturers that can make anything fun to drive. And GTS models do tend to turn the knob even further in the right direction. As SUVs go, this will be killer.
