Sharp! See How Acura Improved the MDX.

Updated and coming soon. The 2025 Acura MDX gets a refreshed front-end, new tech inside, and more insulation to keep the noise outside.

The fourth-generation, Acura MDX, which debuted for the 2022 model year, just received a mid-cycle update for the 2025 model year. As refreshes go, Acura stuck with the basics here: new front fascia, added tech, and a couple new paint colors. Nothing ground breaking.

The powertrain carries on as before, as does the rest of the chassis. But Acura added materials to quiet the cabin further. And most will welcome the tech updates.

To start, Acura changed the bumper and grille of the front fascia, changing the mesh pattern of the grille and generally sharpening up the appearance. Technology and Advance Package trims get a new 20-inch wheel design, while the Type S gets a new 21-inch design. Finally, just like the updated Acura TLX, Acura will coat the MDX in Urban Grey Pearl paint for 2025 as well as Canyon River Blue Metallic

The 2024 Acura TLX Type S here wears a new Urban Grey Pearl paint.

And, if you happy to roll with the standard 3.5-liter V-6’s 290 HP and 267 lb.-ft of torque, but want a sportier look, the A-spec delivers exactly that for you. By the way, yes, the turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 mounted in the Type S still makes 355 Hp and 354 lb.-ft.

Inside, the MDX joins the TLX in receiving a larger, 12.3-in center console touchscreen, goes one step further by including Google built-in and it’s all standard equipment. That also includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, of course, and the also standard wireless smartphone charger now rests right next to the cupholders, unimpeded.

For 2025, the top-of-the-line Type S now includes the Advance package. It gets a new 31-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system. The Type S also exclusively receives a new suite of driving aids called AcuraWatch 360.

AcuraWatch 360 benefits from a new long-range radar, new front camera, radar sensors at all four corners, and a steering wheel touch sensor to add additional driving aids. Most notably, to me at least, is Active Lane Change Assist, but the system also includes lane change collision mitigation and front cross traffic warning.

Finally, Acura added upgraded fender liners, more insulation in the doors, and laminated glass added to the rear doors to quiet the cabin of the Tech package and higher MDX trims. Not that the cabin allowed much more noise than competitors, but a quieter cabin rarely disappoints.

Expect to see the updated, 2025 Acura MDX arrive at dealers next month, in May.
